Council Supporting National Volunteer Week and Warringah Volunteers

On the eve of National Volunteer Week Warringah Council has announced a funding boost for local volunteers and organisations in next year’s budget.

“See the Change….Volunteering is the theme for this year’s National Volunteer Week and I believe more can be done to acknowledge the real change that is made in the community through the enormous contribution of individuals and groups,” said Warringah Council’s Administrator Dick Persson.

“Warringah’s volunteers come from all walks of life and volunteer in areas as diverse as bush regeneration, community safety, coastal management, cultural events, bushfire protection, surf life saving, sporting clubs and library services.

Workshop for Supervisors of Learner Drivers

Warringah Council’s road safety program will be running a free workshop for family members who are teaching their children to drive. The workshop will be on Tuesday 15 May from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Titan Ford showroom in Brookvale.

Warringah Council is running two free screenings of An Inconvenient Truth on Thursday May 3 at 3pm and 7pm. Catch the world’s most talked about documentary on climate change and find out what Warringah Council is doing for environmental sustainability.

Screenings will take place in the Council Chambers off Civic Drive in Dee Why.

Sydney’s leading food and wine vendors get behind Manly’s 21st annual Food & Wine FestivalThe 21st annual Manly Food and Wine Festival, featuring stalls operated by 31 of Sydney’s top names in food and wine, will stretch along Manly’s incomparable Ocean Beachfront and then down The Corso as far as St Matthews Church again this year on Saturday 2 June & Sunday 3 June between 11.30am to 5pm each day.
